BOOK RECOMMENDATION OF THE MONTH

by: Maria José Cárdenas 10A

October arrived! And that means Halloween is right around the corner. Therefore, my book recommendation for this time of the year is ”Fallen”.

If you're into mysterious stories with paranormal themes and fantastic creatures, this book is just for you. Even if you´re not that kind of reader, but you would like to get into the Halloween vibes, I really recommend this novel.

Imagine for one second that the person you´re meant to be with could never be yours. Well, this is exactly what happens to Lucinda Price, a 17 year old girl who falls in love with an intriguing, eerie and mysterious boy, Daniel Grigori in Sword & Cross, her new reform school. Luce believes she has met this boy before, which she did, just not in this life.  Many things happen to Luce in this novel in order to find out what is that special bond that links her to Daniel.

Many secrets will come to light as the story takes place, including Daniel´s darkest one, he is a fallen angel. Luce keeps looking for some answers about their love, and she finds out that Daniel and she have spent lifetimes finding and losing each other, while supernatural forces try to keep them apart. She also will discover the truth about her alleged hallucinations, the shadows. Her whole life she has seen these unknown black creatures, which she´s always been afraid of.

This novel combines romantic issues, mysterious events, and breathtaking secrets that will leave you breathless. The movie based on the novel, will be released next year, and the trailer is available now, in case you want to see it. This novel will engage you as soon as you start reading it. The Fallen saga, includes four books, the first one is Fallen, the second book Torment, the third one Passion, and the final book Rapture. Enjoy the book, and have a very scary Halloween!
