Nowadays it is shocking to see the number of people that let great opportunities fly away because of fear

I must admit that at some point I was one of these people and I let shyness and cowardice step in my way of achieving amazing things which I completely regret. However, I was able to realize at a young age that fear is just an obstacle that I must overcome in order to expect better things for my life. Not taking any risks and avoiding your fears may be comfortable but in order to know what you are capable of and becoming a better person it is necessary to take chances in life. By this I don´t mean that if you are afraid of heights you should jump from the roof of a building, what I mean is that in order to achieve something you need to take little risks every single day.  I heard somewhere that if you are not willing to lose, then you are not willing to win either; You might be really good at something and might have all the capacities to do great things in life but if you are not willing to take risks and to challenge yourself then you will never achieve your goals. I don´t know about you but I believe that success comes by being the best version of yourself ;however, the only way to attain this is by challenging yourself because keeping yourself in the comfort zone won´t let you grow and become better.

There are a lot of fears that stop us humans to accomplishing our goals; personally there are two things that I am really afraid of: the first one is not being good enough at what I do, and the second one is to disappoint other people. I used to be the kind of person that has a lot of hopes and dreams but keeps thinking that the time to achieve them is later which is why I never went out of my comfort zone, not with my family, not at school, not anywhere. It was too scary for me to disappoint not only other people but also myself and since I believed that it wasn´t until later that I needed to work on my goals. I didn´t even care about challenging myself.
Nevertheless, after some experiences I realized that my dreams are the ones that give purpose to my life and that for this reason the time to work on them is now, not tomorrow, not in ten years, now. Nonetheless, I still needed to find a way to confront my fears and start believing in myself and I should admit that I am currently in the process of learning how to do it but up to now I can proudly say that I`ve managed to overcome my fear of disappointing people quite well. What I try to do now is to take risks every day with such things like speaking in public even though I´m shaking like crazy or getting involved in something I wouldn´t normally do or even what I consider the hardest one which is to express my feelings. They may be simple things but still they make me challenge myself and I know that after some months I am going to look back and be extremely proud of myself for all the things that I´ve accomplished.

Albert Einstein said that one type of insanity is to do the same things over and over again and expect different results, so ask yourself what are you doing that made you obtain the results that you have right now. And most importantly, what are you going to do today to obtain a better result? Taking risks is hard because you always have something to lose but I promise that there is also always a lot to gain. For this reason we wanted to challenge some people from the Pacha community that normally don´t speak English (some of them don´t even know English) to take a risk and tell us what has been the biggest challenge in their lives, so this is what they answered…
