BOOK RECOMMENDATION OF THE MONTH

by: Daniela Gomez Vela 10b

This month has surely been an eventful one leaving me with almost no time whatsoever to do my own activities and the things that I enjoy the most, but the one thing that I always try to do as much as I can is reading, not only because it opens up doors to new worlds and information, but also because it helps you learn. It gives you new vocabulary and overall makes you have more knowledge. Therefore, my book recommendation for this month is “The Problem with Forever” by Jennifer L. Armentrout, which is a young adult, contemporary, romance novel that´s 474 pages long.

This book is about a girl, Mallory Dodge, all her life she has been told that being quiet as a mouse is the only way of surviving, so she did what she was told. Even four years after her nightmare ended she was still the little “Mouse” she used to be, but for her senior year she decided it would make sense to go to school since all her life she had been homeschooled and she had always wanted to know what public school was like.

Mallory now has what seems like a perfect life, as she has loving adoptive parents, but on the first day of school she expects anything but riding into her childhood´s best friend and protector Rider Stark, and it doesn’t take her long to discover how their connection never faded even though they never saw each other again after that one terrible night.

Accompany Mallory as she is faced with a lot of drama as she realizes that we all have scars from the past and even though we not always show them, they are there. As she watches Rider’s life spiral out of control, Mallory faces a tough choice between staying silent as she has always been taught or speaking out for the ones she loves, the life she wants, and the truths that need to be heard.
