This New Year has arrived, not only with a couple of goals and expectations, but also with new priorities for many of us. In fact, thinking about our future is something that more than one girl in my classroom is doing, and I am sure that we are not the only ones that are feeling stressed and worried about it. Thinking about our future is much more than just deciding where to study or what to study but it is more like what and who do we want to be in life.

Starting to search for a career that fits with your expectations is not that easy and although some of us might be sure of what to study, at some point we all end up doubting and feeling stressed.  In fact, nowadays collages offer thousands of different and interesting programs that will make more than one think twice about their future. For instance, there are some that we have never heard about or did not even know they existed.  In my point of view the best decisions are when you clearly know and understand all the options you have. That’s why in this edition I will show you two careers that you may have never heard about but might fit perfectly with what you want.

Mechatronics engineering- it includes computation, microelectronics, mechanics and also administrative areas.

3D Design- It is an area that is taking importance nowadays, and it’s focused on the design of artifacts, products and objects that surround us.

As both of the careers named previously, there are many others that I am sure will make you open your expectations and think twice when you are deciding what career to choose.

When we arrive to 9th, 10th or 11th grade we start having a different point of view about our future. When we were little, we saw the future like the moment when we were going to be "the big girls in school", we couldn’t wait to arrive to fourth grade so we could have a locker or write in pen instead of pencil, when we could drink soda at lunch instead of juice, when we could eat outside of the cafeteria, and, finally, when we were in eleventh grade using the seniors jacket and many other things that are not of the real future that is waiting for us after graduation. Through time, we start growing and our future starts having a more serious point of view and in that moment a question comes to our mind: What am I going to do with my life? When you ask yourself this question you know you are getting more mature and that it is moment to establish priorities and of course one of them is thinking what you want to study and where.

Choosing a career is a very difficult choice in our lives, maybe the most difficult one in some cases, because this is going to be what defines your work life, and where you are going to live, and the people you will relate with. On one hand some people have the fortune of making a good decision and entering the career they like and are passionate about. On the other hand, there are some people that aren’t sure of their decisions regarding their careers, as a result, they may be not going to be happy, the most probable thing is that they change of career and they are not going to do their best effort in their work because there's nothing that motivates them for giving the best of themselves.

Fortunately, there are many ways to make a good decision and not make a mistake with your future. First, you have to be calm, thinking what the areas that you like the most are. For example, if you feel better in areas such as math, you can choose engineering, or if you like biology and human body you can choose medicine, also if you prefer the humanities part you can choose psychology or some career that has something to do with politics and laws if you have a tendency towards social areas. Moreover, you have to do a very good consultation and investigation of the programs and the options that the different universities offer you. There are always people that can guide you either in the school or the university so you can solve the doubts you have. Furthermore, you have to choose a career that makes you passionate and makes you feel comfortable with it and the only way to achieve this is choosing it by your own without the influence of others. Never choose a career for the money it is going to give you, because if you like what you do, you will do it good and if you do it good, then money will come.

Finally, you need to have very clear set of ideas of the career you chose so you are not going to regret you choice in the future. This is a decision that you have the opportunity to do greatly.
